The Day I Met Virat Kohli - A Poem

You are the best, better than all the rest Win every game, pass every test. Winning every game, everyday,is your way The champion, the king, cthe prince, i say. Your bat talks, your records shake Every match is new, every time  you play, you break. You are my hero, my only one In many planets, you are the only sun.

For the love of NATURE - my take

The wind on my face, the sun on my back. Make me free, grateful we have. The chirping of birds, the lovely sounds. In the deep green forests, they most abound. The sandy beach, and the waves crashing in. The endless sea,the end cannot be seen. The glow of the sunset, lights up my face. The sun going down, with so much grace. The drops of water, falling from the sky. Rainfall is magic,I always wonder why. We pollute the world, with so much haste. The beauty of nature,we quickly waste. I am a child and I love nature. I want to enjoy it even in my future. I want to climb mountains,I want to swim in lakes. Please save nature, whatever it takes. The wind on my face, the sun on my back. Let me be free, please don't take it back

Dragon Dust - Drag the Dragon Series Short Story

It was a warm summer day and the sun was hot and strong. Vacations were over and the drive from school to home at 4 pm was sweaty, thirsty and unbearable. The air-conditioning of the car was at full blast but barely effective. Perhaps, God was too kind with the sun to the city of Delhi. Just as we were crossing the highway, a sandstorm started to rustle up. I groaned in frustration “the heat was bad enough and now we have dust everywhere!!” I may be just 8 years old, but old enough to know that nothing can be done about the weather except – bearing with it. It was in this strange mix of irritation, exhaustion and sweat that I sat in the car, gloomily looking out of the back seat window. Swirls of dust were everywhere and bits of paper were flying in mini tornados. Brown dust everywhere…..wait! did I just see GREEN dust? I looked carefully and saw one swirl of dust to be bright green and that too right next to my window. I didn’t know why, but I rolled the car window down

It was September 14th - A Short Story

My day starts early. Every morning at 5 am sharp, my handler wakes me up and then cleans me well. I am then loaded and with a deafening roar I start spitting fire at the enemy. This carries on through the day and by evening, I am tired, smelly and bruised. The next day, the same thing happens again. I am a machine gun of the Indian Army and stand majestically at the border with our mischievous neighbor. I command a lot of respect but the work is hard and there are no breaks. I wait and yearn for the day when someone would give an apology to the other and I can go and rest in my gun house. One day, I still remember the date (it was September 14 th ), at 5 am. My handler cleaned me and started to dismantle me. I was too worried at this development – to even have hope. Was I being replaced by a newer model? Was I getting too old to fire?? Just when my worry was turning into full panic – I overheard someone saying, “they just said sorry and we stopped firing!” In the afternoo

THE SPACE FAMILY - A Short Story

Once upon a time there was a family. THE SUN was the dad, THE PLANETS were the sons and daughters and THE MOON was the mother.  Once son Jupiter was very bored and forced dad Sun and mother Moon to go for a vacation. To his surprise, they agreed! So, the family set out for a vacation. They decided to explore the universe.        Just when they started heading out of Milky Way, they got stuck between the asteroids. All the planet siblings were scared and fighting with each other but sister Earth was calm. They waited for the asteroids to pass. Then they moved on. After that they safely made out of Milky Way. Then they made their way to the opposite galaxy. There, they got attacked by the meteors, who thought that they were travelling without a passport or a visa. But after they let the family pass, son Pluto told dad Sun that it had the passport and the visa. Other planets siblings were very angry but again sister Earth was as calm as a symphony.                 Now, t

The Day that Changed the World - Wright Brothers

It was a cloudy day on a beach. The sea was quite stormy. Two men with a funny looking machine were arguing with each other. “You don’t push it hard enough!” said the taller one. “I am too cold and my fingers are numb”, replied the other man. This went on for a few hours and they both sat down on the wet sand, exhausted. After a few minutes, the taller one said, “we cannot let years of hard work go waste like this, let us try again”. Reluctantly, they both stood up again and started working on their machine. One checked every single inch of the rather huge machine, till he was sure that there was nothing wrong. Everything was working perfectly. The other man read through his notes again and again, till he was convinced that the scientific equations written there were all correct. With a quick prayer on their lips and jaws clenched with resolve, they gave the machine a final push. And then started running with it till they were able to jump on top of it. The machine struggled

Birds and I

WHY BIRDS FLY IN THE SKY? WHY DO THEY ALWAYS WORK HARD AND TRY? WHY DO THEY ALWAYS CHIRP, NEVER CRY? WHY ARE THEY HONEST, NEVER LIE? WHY DO THEY LOOK FOR THEIR OWN PREY? WHY DON'T THEY GET THEIR FOOD IN THE TRAY? WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS SCARED OF US AND ALWAYS FLY AWAY? I AM A LITTLE BIRD, I WANT TO FLY, I WANT TO TRY, TRY AND TRY, TO TOUCH THE BLUE SKY. THANKS FOLKS!!   WANNA READ MOREEE?…... THEN KEEP READING MY BLOG

I looked for the dragon till the 5th stop of the train.I was bored and went to the restaurant in the train with my father. There I ordered plenty of tasty food.when the order was brought by the waiter my father went to the washroom.then suddenly I heard a WHOOSH! It was the dragon sitting in front of me!the dragon finished all my tasty food in seconds Ii was surprised to see all my plates polished.so when I was about to ask the dragon that why did he finish all my food he disappeared.  When I got a suddenly  awake, I was surprised to see my father waking me up. I took a quick look at my plates of tasty food that I had ordered - for myself. They were all clean and polished. Except, for one of the plates on which there was a little bit of green paint.
